about us

In 1963, Jim Evans began J.E. Evans Construction with the vision of creating quality, custom homes and developing long lasting relationships with those he served.

The home building industry has changed a lot over the years and our decades of continuous experience is evident in each custom home we construct. Our relationship with subs, vendors, and county personnel over the past fifty-five years afford professional continuity of the job. Some of our subcontractors are second and third generation professionals providing us with unmatched experience in recreating your plans and dreams.

Our custom built homes are loaded with extras:

mantels and cabinetry custom made to your specifications.

Trey and coffered ceilings

created with attention to detail.

Quartz countertops

Get the look of natural stone, minus the maintenance.

Central vacuum systems

built into your home for maximum convenience.

Elevators and vehicle lifts;

smart wiring and security systems.

  • Where ,what, and when?

We will meet you on site of your lot or a lot your are interested in purchasing to help evaluate the pros and cons of the property and give you our insight as to the placement and/or orientation of your new home. We will also discuss the the style of home you want and the restrictions of that particular lot.

  • Pick a plan or designer

Once the lot is decided upon then we can help direct you to plan sites and offer ideas for your plan, find a suitable architect, or offer to design this one-of-a-kind home of your dreams. Once designed, you'll be able to see it in 3D and even do a virtual “walk through” before its built.

  • Develop a spec sheet

We will then meet to develop a list of specifications and materials that you desire in your home. These will include items like flooring, windows and doors, roofing, exterior finish and so on. These items will have the most impact on the final figure and your satisfaction. And remember, you've spent no money with us up to this point.

  • Receive a quote from us

We can contract 2 different ways. For most homes we will provide a “contract price”. This is what the build will cost. There is no hidden fees or costs after this is signed. This is the final figure you will pay for the home. No surprises, no worries. On some of our more complicated builds we may choose to employ a “cost plus” contract.

On these builds we will still develop an estimate of all the costs and add a percentage or a flat fee to that total for our services. These types of contract are reserved for homes with lots of unique features and materials. These types also give the client maximum control over the build.

From there we get going.

Our goal is that something changes every day on your build until its complete. We will provide to you a schedule of operations and meet onsite any time you need us to. One of us will be on the jobsite everyday to personally supervise all aspects of construction.

Although we love new construction, we also offer unmatched experience in remodels, additions, large scale refurbishment, rendering and drafting services, and design and consultation. When you are inspired we can help you plan ,visualize, budget and execute your vision. That’s our vision.
